In my case I get a warming effect that activate sweating like when you have a waistband, not uncomfortable at all. But if you have sensitive skin or a skin condition you might want to do a test to make sure it won't irritate your skin. I left it on for hours, it came off quite easily as well. It's like the hot creams you put on before the waistband to work out so you sweat more, without the mess or smell. This serum is very much in my opinion like skincare, non greasy or tacky and it's absorbed by the skin as you are massaging the affected area. A little bit goes a long way because it has some essential oils as well as Emu oil in the ingredients which allows you to massage the area really well. It smells like skincare as well which is very much appreciated because to be honest sometimes I rather endure the pain than the smell of pain relief ointment.  And that's another difference, it's a serum so very lightweight if you compare it to the traditional cream or ointment that you have to wash your hands with plenty of soap and water before you touch anything else.
